In order for clients to be aware of the costs of patenting a brand and an invention, we will look for an answer to the question of how much it will cost to patent a brand in 2026.

This article describes the status of patenting costs in 2026.

Before patenting a brand (trademark) or an invention, we need to find the answer to the question "In which classes should I patent it?" Because if you patent your brand "so-and-so" in one class, others can freely use it in another class. Therefore, let's learn about patent classes before calculating the price.

After determining the class, we can now calculate the cost of the patent.

The first price we need to know is the cost of state fees. Because payments for state fees are divided into 2 parts: state fee for filing an application and state fee for obtaining a certificate.

The state fee for filing an application is paid first, and after the patent is issued within 7 or 1 month of the patenting period, the second state fee for the certificate is paid.

Part 1: state duty payable for filing an application

The state fee for applying for one class in 2026 is 1,648,000 soums (one million six hundred and forty eight thousand).

The fee for the same application is 1,648,000 (one million six hundred and forty-eight thousand) soums, if it is quick, i.e. for quick patenting for 1 month.

It follows that if you want to patent quickly or if you want to patent at a standard rate (7-10 months), you will pay the same amount of state duty.



Part 2: state duty payable for the certificate

As of March 2026, the state duty paid for a certificate for one class is 2,801,600 soums (2 million, 801,600 soums). This price is the standard patent price.

For quick patenting, in addition to the state duty paid for the certificate, you will have to pay an additional 5,537,280 soums (5 million, 537,280 soums) for the accelerated contract.

In the same way, if you want to patent in 2 classes at the same time, the state fees will be as follows:

• 1st patent filing fee: 1,854,000 soums (1 million, 854 thousand soums)
• Registration 2nd patent fee: 3,213,600 soums (3 million, 213 thousand, 600 soums)

It can be seen that patenting multiple classes at once is more cost-effective than patenting them separately later.

The patenting procedure for legal entities is carried out in 2 parts, just like for individuals. In the accelerated patenting process, there is an additional fee for the contract.

The state fees paid by legal entities for the application at stage 1 are as follows:

State fee for the application is 2,472,000 soums (2 million, 472 thousand soums)

State fee for the Certificate at stage 2 - 4,779,200 soums (4 million, 779 thousand, 200 soums)

The contract fee for an accelerated patent is 5,537,280 soums (5 million, 537 thousand, 280 soums). That is, the fee for the accelerated contract is paid in the same amount for individuals and legal entities.

The process of obtaining copyright - patenting lasts 1 month

In this case, the client must provide us with a power of attorney. We, on behalf of the client, will handle the application, power of attorney and contracts, completely and correctly filing them with the Ministry of Justice, and issuing the certificate.

Copyright protection is called depository.

In the process of obtaining copyright, that is, depositing, we will need the following documents:

1. Application
2. Power of attorney
3. Contract
4. Author's passport details, residential address, etc.

The state fee for obtaining a copyright is: 1,500,000 soums (1 million 500 thousand soums).

When submitting an application for an invention to the Intellectual Property Center under the Ministry of Justice, that is, when applying for a patent, the BHM is 2 times the base calculation amount.
In essence, during the examination process, the BHM is 6 times.
Finally, when the patent is issued, it will be necessary to pay 4.8 times the BHM.

A patent for an invention is granted for 20 years.

The basic calculation amount, according to information provided by the lex.uz information portal, will be 412,000 soums (412 thousand soums) from February 1, 2026.
