Once you have patented your brand as a trademark, no one else can use the name or a similar symbol in the classes for which you have patented it. Trademark rights are divided into 45 classes, so you own the brand only in the areas in which you have registered it. This prevents others from using, duplicating or patenting your brand and gives you full legal protection in your field.
No, there are no taxes or additional mandatory fees paid for a patent certificate every month or every year. The state fee is paid only during the application process. The term of a trademark patent is 10 years. The patent holder can extend the certificate an unlimited number of times by submitting a new application in accordance with the established procedure and paying the state fee.
There are two ways to obtain a patent certificate for the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Depending on your preference, you can choose the expedited 1-month process or the standard 7-month process. Both options have the same result - you will be issued a patent certificate, which is valid for 10 years.
If someone illegally uses your patented trademark, the first fine is paid to the Ministry of Justice. If the infringement is repeated, you will be subject to legal action. The fine is 5-30 times the Basic Calculation Amount (BCA) for individuals and 50-100 times the BCA for legal entities. These fines are calculated based on the basic calculation amount
